Miksang: Mindful Photo Walk With Helen

Miksang means ‘Good Eye’ in Tibetan. It is a form of contemplative, mindful photography. It is based on the Dharma Arts of Chogyam Trungpa.

Miksang’s focus is not on technique, but on discovering a moment of fresh, direct perception where the world stops us out of the blue and wakes us up to something deep and true. Open to the present moment, meet the world as it is, and let its ordinary magic erupt in front of you.

The walk will begin with a short introduction to Miksang, to give you an understanding of the basic elements & help you tune in to the freshness of your ‘good eye’ Most of the session will be for you to explore the ordinary world with your camera & see what stops you & wakes you up.

It should be noted that this is not an official Miksang training, but simply a chance to experience this approach which works to align the heart, mind & eye.

The walk does not require any prior knowledge or training. All that is needed is something (camera/phone) to snap pictures with.
