Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course - Online
Mindfulness is a simple and yet very powerful practice of training our attention to the present moment.
It’s simple in that it’s really just about paying attention to the here & now in a non-judgemental way. It’s powerful because it can interrupt our habitual patterns of thinking, feeling & behaving.
Over the decades the MBSR course has evolved to synthesize ancient Eastern spiritual practices with emerging findings from neuroscience, positive psychology & Mind-Body Medicine. The MBSR course is now considered the gold standard in mindfulness meditation globally, with a growing body of research supporting its wide-ranging health & wellbeing benefits.
MBSR course participants can learn to mobilize their deep inner resources to facilitate learning, growth, healing, enhance self-care, & make positive shifts in attitudes, behaviours, & relationships.
Research has found the MBSR course can help: reduce stress, anxiety & depression; improve learning & memory, emotional regulation & perspective taking; reduce pain, fatigue & stress in people with chronic pain; manage diabetes distress, weight, glycaemic control & blood pressure; reduce menopausal symptoms; act with greater intentionality & purpose.
This online option is available for individuals (or 2 people together) who are unable to attend the in-person courses in Auroville or for people who have an irregular schedule as the sessions can be planned to suit one’s individual needs.
Sessions will include guided meditation practices (some of which involve gentle movement), individual reflections & guided explorations to help build fresh perspectives & insights of your habitual patterns.
Qualifications
- Qualified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Teacher – completed TT1 & TT2 with Mindful Academy Solterreno)
- Certificate in Foundations of Trauma-informed Mindfulness with Mindfulness Exercises (internationally accredited with CPD & International Mindfulness & Meditation Alliance).
- Certificate in Happiness and Positive Psychology (High Distinction) from RMIT University, Melbourne
- Certificate Course in Yoga Education (First Class Distinction) – with Yoga Vidhya Gurukul
