THERAPIST PROFILE

Helen Eveleigh

Mindfulness Teacher, Trauma-Informed Facilitator, and Explorer of Science, Spirituality, and Wellbeing

Helen Eveleigh

Helen is a qualified Mindfulness for Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher (based on the MBSR curriculum as defined by University of Massachusetts Centre For Mindfulness). She studied at Mindful Academy Solterreno (Spain) & has taught MBSR based courses in healthcare centres, workplaces & community settings. She has also studied Trauma-Informed Mindfulness with Mindfulness Exercises (accredited by the International Mindfulness & Meditation Alliance), and is a qualified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher.

Helen is fascinated by the emerging neuroscience & the synthesis between this & the ancient spiritual practices. She has spent much of the last 20 years studying, practicing & sharing learnings from both of these ‘traditions’.

On the spiritual side, her first taste of both mindfulness & loving kindness was from the forest monks in Thailand. She has since studied with schools including Shambhala & Insight meditation. She has also attended several vipassana courses & is a qualified yoga teacher.

On the science side, Helen studied ‘Happiness & Positive Psychology’ at RMIT University (Melbourne). She established Action for Happiness Australia, where she led their courses & organised events with global neuroscientists & wellbeing practitioners.

She now lives in Auroville where she explores (on a daily basis) how the yogic inner journey of discovery & awakening can be integrated into all aspects of life.

Helen is also a trained facilitator, having led many community processes. She also holds a BA in Social Policy and an MA in Urban Regeneration.
