Ashesh Joshi
Sri Aurobindo wrote about a life-oriented spirituality. According to him life is meant to manifest a divine life upon earth. His Integral yoga is a practice for the transformation and ultimate divinisation of one’s nature. Healing and strengthening are gradually achieved by learning self-offering.
Ashesh Joshi is a long-term student of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother and loves to share his humble understanding of the Integral yoga. He was an inmate of Sri Aurobindo Ashram from 1987 to 2006 and since then he is an Aurovilian. Along with his Vera Joshi he has conducted over 1500 Inner-Work-Workshops and retreats in Auroville and around the world.
His workshops, termed Inner-Work-Workshops, introduce Sri Aurobindo’s vision and Integral yoga. The sessions include lectures, circle discussions, Questions and Answers and concentration exercises. Multimedia, interactive games as well as various creative arts light up the atmosphere and allow the students’ participation in a playful manner. The gains from the workshop are the life strengthening spiritual clarity, inspiration to further study the profound philosophy of Sri Aurobindo, a cheerful manner of practicing the Integral yoga and deep joy of life.
The basic workshop takes place every Tuesday, 9 am to 12 noon, at the Mirabelle Education Centre, Auromodele community, Kuyilapalayam, Auroville. Other workshops range from three hours to one month and can be arranged upon invitation and for the visiting groups.
Ashesh is the author of An Introduction to the Integral Yoga. The book gives a brief overview of the Integral Yoga.
