Sivaraj Adimoolam

Sivaraj Adimoolam was born in Kottakarai, Auroville. He studied at Gandhi Middle School in Kootroad and Isaiambalam School in Auroville, and holds a diploma in Siddha Medicine.

He practices Healing Touch through Energy Therapy and brings over 20 years of experience as an herbalist and nutritionist. Through his work, Sivaraj has been serving the Auroville community with traditional and nature-based healing approaches.

Since 2002, he has been the founder and director of Martuvam Healing Forest and Medicinal Herb Garden in Auroville. He lives at Martuvam with his wife, Malar, and their children, Rajeswari, Aravind, and Auroson. As a family, they actively contribute to the care and development of the land.

Sivaraj is also deeply involved in community development through the Auroville Green Belt Service, where he manages park areas and educates the public on the importance of medicinal plants and ecological care.

Martuvam Healing Forest

Martuvam Healing Forest is an organically cultivated forest located on the western edge of Auroville’s green belt. Established in 2002 on once-barren land, it has grown into a thriving 7-acre sanctuary of Ayurvedic herbs and medicinal plants.

Rooted in the ancient Siddha tradition, Martuvam offers natural remedies, preventive care, and alternative therapies to the community, regardless of socioeconomic background. The forest is dedicated to sharing the healing wisdom of medicinal plants and nurturing a deeper relationship between people and nature.

Martuvam also plans to introduce a heritage walk through the forest, inviting visitors to learn about medicinal plants, their history, and their healing properties — fostering awareness, wellbeing, and environmental harmony.
