Sivaraj Adimoolam was born in Kottakarai, Auroville, and pursued his education at Gandhi Middle School in Kootroad and Isaiambalam School in Auroville. He holds a diploma in Siddha Medicine and practices “Healing Touch” through Energy Therapy. With 20 years of experience as an herbalist and nutritionist, Sivaraj has been serving the Auroville community through his expertise in traditional healing methods.

Since 2002, he has been the founder and director of Martuvam Healing Forest and Medicinal Herb Garden in Auroville. Together with his wife, Malar, and their children, Rajeswari, Aravind, and Auroson, he resides at Martuvam, where the family actively contributes to its development. Sivaraj is also engaged in community development initiatives through the “Auroville Green Belt Service,” managing park areas and educating the public about the importance of medicinal plants.

Martuvam Healing Forest
Martuvam Healing Forest is an organically cultivated forest located on the western periphery of Auroville’s green belt. Established in 2002 on once-barren land, it was lovingly transformed into a thriving 7-acre sanctuary of Ayurvedic herbs and medicinal plants by Sivaraj, his family, and friends from Auroville.

Rooted in the ancient Siddha tradition, Martuvam offers natural remedies, preventive care, and alternative therapies to the community, regardless of socioeconomic status. The center is dedicated to raising awareness about the healing powers of traditional herbal medicine and fostering a deeper connection between people and nature.

Martuvam also plans to introduce a heritage walk through the forest, allowing visitors to engage with the herbal plants, learn their history, and understand their profound healing properties. Through these initiatives, Martuvam continues to serve as a vital resource for the community, upholding the principles of holistic health and environmental harmony.
